Head coach Frankie Ruiz of Belen Jesuit Prep in Florida, along with senior Joshua Ruiz (no relation) and freshman Marcelo Mantecon join DyeStat's Todd Grasley to discuss the Wolverines sweeping the top six places and taking seven of the top eight spots Aug. 26 at the Kowboy Invitational at Osceola High in Florida. Joshua Ruiz prevailed in the 5-kilometer race in 15:16.02, with Mantecon clocking 15:30.76, followed by Joseph Socarras (15:40.79), Diego Magarino (15:44.05), Evan Torres (15:47.28) and Joseph Ruiz (15:47.81). They discuss competing Sept. 16 at the Southern Showcase in Alabama, as well as getting a preview of the NXR Southeast course at the WakeMed Soccer Complex in Cary, N.C., when they travel Oct. 7 to the Great American Cross Country Festival. Belen Jesuit finished second at NXR Southeast last season and placed 14th at Nike Cross Nationals in Oregon.
